Think my layette checklist seems lighter than other ones?  Well, you are right! Here's why:

• This is a practical list of items that you will actually need and use and no more.
• Lists created by baby stores urge you to buy more than you will actually need.
• You are likely to receive a ton of gifts of 0-3 months sized clothing which will augment your layette.
• Although sometimes you'll be changing outfits several times a day, there are other days where you can keep baby in the same outfit into nighttime and the next day.
• You'll be doing laundry often enough that you'll always have something clean.
• You'll want to wait to buy some clothes until after your baby is born since you will no doubt have a preference between 1 piece and 2 piece outfits, snaps and zippers, footed and footless outfits, etc.
