Consider This When Shopping for Crib Bedding

Crib Bumpers – Yes or No? Despite the many safety warnings about the potential for crib bumpers to cause injury or death, everyone I know still uses bumpers in their cribs. My experience was this: I bought a crib set that included a bumper for my first child because the bumper-look epitomizes what a precious baby nursery should look like. When I set up the crib for my second child I used a crib sheet and crib skirt, but left the bumper out. Changing crib sheets is a pain in the neck and not having a bumper makes it easier.

The Right Number of Sheets - Most crib sets include just one sheet so you’ll definitely want to order an extra sheet (or two). Make sure you also have 2 waterproof mattress pads for middle of the night changings or when you don’t have time to do laundry.

Unisex Bedding – I spent a lot of time during my first pregnancy looking for cool unisex bedding because I chose not to find out the sex of my baby. And while some do exist, your best bet is to wait until after you have the baby and go for one of the cool girl or boy designs featured here! It does not take long to order bedding and most people don’t use their full size crib until baby is 2 or 3 months old.
