How Much Should I Pay My Nanny? How Much Should I Pay My Nanny?

The best way to figure out the going rate for a nanny is to get comps from other families. Some of the many factors that go into determining nanny pay are:

  • How many children you have and their ages
  • Years of experience your nanny has
  • Cost of living in your area
  • Nanny hours & schedule
  • Additional household chores
  • Driving requirements
  • Special needs

I didn’t list nanny competency because it is nearly impossible to quantify, but of course there are some nannies that are just unbelievable at their job and their pay will reflect that.  Ultimately how you decide on a number is between you as the employer and your nanny as the employee.
